aaaand in other news, my husband and i are busy making our own rpg. it uses something similar to wh40k dark heresy mechanics, but the setting is based on the wheel of time novels. it's gonna be awesome. i wonder if we'll ever actually get around to finishing it.

'cause, you know, we also have plans to start our own political party.

what? it's a great title.

just survived my first day as a college sophomore. thermodynamics, computer science, and multivariable calculus for today. they don't seem so bad, at least not right now.

i'm sure they'll get hideously complex later on, though, so i'll savor my ability to understand the course material while i still can.

my programming teacher in particular is pretty cool. he was among the FIRST DEVELOPERS OF UNIX, so that nets him major awesomeness points in my book. we talked about chess.

met a nice lady at the bus stop today. her name is besma (probably not spelled right) and she works at clemson as an environmental toxicologist. that's noteworthy mainly for the fact that i tend not to talk to people, so i've never had a conversation with anyone at a bus stop before.

ordered my textbooks yesterday. i managed to get a lot of them for free from friends of mine who had already taken certain classes, so the total cost was only like $300. holy crap, what am i saying?!? ONLY $300??? X_____x

oh, and i've also just purchased a tablet. this is something i was planning to do some time in the hazy distant future, but then i saw an ad for a new 12x10 vistablet for $90. i could also have gotten photoshop cs4, indesign cs4, AND illustrator cs4 for around $300, except that i'm fresh out of disposable income. which is too bad, because do you realize what kind of a deal that is??? that package normally goes for around $1,400. ah well.
